Places to Visit

Craigtoun Meadows is situated on the east coast of Scotland, just 1.5 miles from the centre of historic St. Andrews. For directions please see our find us page.

The perfect base for your Scottish adventure

We believe you will find Craigtoun Meadows an ideal base to set off on your exploration of this part of Scotland.

There is so much for you to see and do; clean sandy beaches, pretty countryside, shops, many good places to eat out, a cinema, golf courses and a superb swimming and leisure complex all in St Andrews.

The Local Area

Not only is it the Home of Golf, St Andrews is also the home of the oldest Scottish university and has many fine buildings. The city itself is a pleasant place to roam and has many pavement cafes. Almost every corner and street can tell a tale especially if you dare to take the evening “ghost walk”!

Next door to us is Craigtoun Country Park which has a large playground set in beautiful open grounds. The park is free of charge to enter however, they no longer have any facilities open such as the boats and trampolines due to lack of funding.

Further afield

Go a little further afield and you will also find historic houses theatres, museums and that’s not counting Dundee (30 minutes), Perth (50 minutes) and Edinburgh (1.25 hours). You can take a  train from the railway station in nearby Leuchars to each of these cities. The station is about 5 miles from our park and offers free parking for the day.

You can still find the more traditional style of shops in most parts of Scotland, and here in St Andrews and the rest of North East Fife you will find little exception. Wherever you wander, we hope you will like what you see, and you are impressed by our hospitality.
